Senior Cyber Security Manager, Currys

Marcin Roth is currently a Senior Cyber Security Manager at Currys with seven years of experience working within Information Security teams across the retail industry. Previously, he worked for eight years delivering large-scale IT and policy programmes across Central Government.

Zechariah Akinpelu
Chief Information Security Officer, Unity Bank Plc

Zechariah is a seasoned global multiple award-winning Cybersecurity executive with wealth of experience in Information Security Engineering, Information Security Governance, Cloud Security, Information Security Program Development, Information Risk Management, Security Incident Management, Threat Hunting, Threat Intelligence, Penetration testing, Application Security, Vulnerability Management and Digital Forensic. His years of experience cut across Fintech, Technology company and financial sector. He had set up and pioneered the information security department for various commercial banks and Fintech in Nigeria. He had served in ISACA in various capacities as Cybersecurity Nexus (CSX) Liaison, Education Director for ISACA Lagos, Membership and Certification Director for ISACA Lagos. He led the information security organization of the largest digital payment company (Interswitch) in Sub-Sahara Africa and one of the largest team of Security Engineers in sub-Sahara Africa while working with FirstBank. He is currently the Chief Information Security Officer for Unity Bank.

He is an examiner and moderators for various Cybersecurity certifications such as EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Network Defender (CND), Certified Chief Information Security Officer (C|CISO) and Certified Data Privacy Security Engineer (CDPSE). He is a contributor to Cybersecurity Open Source platforms.

Zechariah has delivered several topics on Cybersecurity in various conferences and workshops such as BlackHat, GITEX across Africa, Middle East, United Kingdom, Europe and United States. He is an alumni of MIT Sloan School of Management and Carnegie Mellon University. He held BSc in Physics from University of Ibadan, MBA from Business School Netherlands, Master in Cybersecurity from EC-Council University, US and numerous professional certifications.

He is EC-Council’s 2021 Certified Ethical Hacker Hall of Fame, 2016 EC-Council Ethical Hacker of the year and several awards on Cybersecurity and Technology space. He is recently named the Leader in the 2022 and 2023 World CIO 200 Summit respectively.

Aarti Ajay is an IT audit manager at Just Group Plc. She has been involved in IT audit for over 15+ years of experience with a proven track record of clarifying issues, advocating solutions, mobilising cross-functional support, and facilitating decision-making in complex situations across global enterprises.

Aarti is CISA certified with special interest in cyber security, IT audit, IT infrastructure, end-to end business process improvement , Information Risk and IT risk management, She is a passionate champion for cyber security and is an active event organiser of the ISACA London chapter.

Data Scientist, Cyber Crime Security Researcher, Ebay

Nadezda spearheads the Off Platform Brand Protection research at eBay, with a key focus on incorporating advanced machine learning techniques to enhance customer protection solutions. Previously holding analytic leadership positions for the anti-phishing team at Kaspersky Labs and the Payment Services anti-fraud at Yandex. Obtained an MSc in Data Science with distinction from Queen’s University Belfast.

Jonathan Mattey
Head of Cyber Security, Forge Holiday Group

Jonathan is the Head of Cyber Security for the Forge Holiday Group, consisting of four leading companies in the Travel and Hospitality sector. Having built a reputation for delivery and execution in Oil and Gas, whilst leading the security operations function – Jonathan sought the opportunity to broaden his sector insight and tackle a different set of security concerns within a new technology environment.

Jonathan has a plethora of experience delivering crucial security programmes for critical national infrastructure including detection and response, data protection, risk management and disaster recovery. He has a passion for continuous improvement and the importance of this in building high performance security teams alongside a positive cyber security culture.

It is with this growth mindset that Jonathan believes we must tackle the current and future threat landscape to provide the appropriate security outcomes in line with industry requirements.

Ian is the Group CISO at Spectris plc and is responsible for the information and cyber security at a range of unique, diverse and critical businesses across the world. He has worked in a range of industries from bluechip to charity with a track record of successful delivery in security transformation from greenfield to more mature organisations.

Bharat Thakrar
CISO and Principal Security Lead, Information Security Forum

Bharat has over 18 years’ experience in the cybersecurity industry and he was the cybersecurity lead and Head of Cyber Resilience at BT. He now works as a CISO/BISO and board-level advisor. He specialises in cyber risk, incidence response, threat intelligence, IAM, zero trust and engaging CXO’s on cyber scenario planning. Bharat is a regular conference chair/keynote speaker, visiting lecturer on BSc/MSc courses and was consultant and advisor on the UK Cyber Security Council (UKCSC) Formation Programme. Bharat has an MBA from Imperial College and is CISSP certified.

Kevin is an innovative and dynamic security professional, with a passion for driving change by successfully engaging with all levels of the business. He is passionate about the benefits of cognitive diversity as a key ingredient of successful organisations.

He believes that security should be made a key differentiator to drive sales and customer retention, not just a cost centre.

Kevin has been a board advisor to multiple start-ups and industry groups, such as The Cybermaniacs, LT Harper, ClubCISO, and an advisory council member to ISC2 UK. He has previously been the CISO for FNZ Group and JustEat. He’s currently the CISO at NatWest Boxed, a joint venture between NatWest and Vodeno, building the UK’s premier provider of banking-as-a-service, and Mettle, a small business bank account by NatWest.

Worked in multiple industries including Defence, Finance, and Gaming and Betting. Security Story Lead, BT

Cal is a child of the 70s, lured into tech in the 80s by the battle cry of ‘more women in engineering!’ and has survived as the unique one in most meetings ever since. They came out as non-binary in 2021, and are increasingly active in raising awareness of trans and non-binary issues in what is still a very male environment. They are equally passionate about their day job – ensuring BT has a coherent story on the hardest security challenges, which means not just spinning a tale but sponsoring and driving the initiatives that make it robust.

John Scott
Instructor, SANS Institute

John Scott is an instructor for the SANS Institute, teaching classes all around the world on managing human risk, as well as being an international speaker on security culture change. He also works as a cybersecurity researcher, using human behavioural data to drive risk management.
Previously, he worked in a senior security transformation role at BT and was Head of Security Education for the Bank of England for nearly 7 years, running an internationally recognised culture change programme for the UK’s central bank. John’s key passion is the need for security to be a champion of their colleagues, rather than just being the ‘department of NO’. He hates the phrase ‘users are the weakest link.’

She brings extensive expertise in change management, both at the personal and organisational levels.
