Raul Lapaz has more than 20 years of IT experience and works as a cloud security engineer at the Swiss pharmaceutical company Roche.

His primary role is to design, implement, and deploy a secure cloud environment for health care digital products in AWS.

He writes articles for such publications as Admin Network and Security, and in the past, he also wrote articles for Windows NT Magazine.

He holds several IT certifications, like Splunk Architect, GIAC SANS, RedHat, CEH, Microsoft and others.

Vice President, Technical Fellow-Chief Cloud and Platform Architect, USAA

Gerum Haile joined USAA in December 2017 and is serving as VP, Tech Fellow and chief architect in the CTO organization. His primary focus is on public cloud and capability centric application platforms.

Gerum received his M.Sc. in Software Engineering from the University of St. Thomas in Saint Paul, MN and has twenty plus years of experience in the architecture, design, and development of mission-critical, high-volume, cloud-based, distributed systems in insurance, banking, finance, payment, lending, health care & eCommerce sectors.

Prior to joining USAA, he worked for PayPal, eBay, GE Capital and Accenture.

Gerum has led different type of products, programs and projects including system modernization/legacy re-platforming, integration & consolidation, SOA/Micro-Services transformations, new B2B and B2C applications, platform services and infrastructure from concept to production.

Head of Cloud Services, NatWest Group

Edward (Ted) Newman is the Head of Cloud Services and leads the Hosting Solutions Domain for the Royal Bank of Scotland. Ted is leading the transformation of the Bank’s infrastructure services to repeatable, self-service, and predictable utilities leveraging a multi-cloud strategy. Ted is also a key sponsor of the Bank’s efforts around the adoption of DevOps.

Ted previously served as Resident CTO and Principal Consultant at Dell EMC Services, a provider of strategic guidance and technology expertise that organizations need to transform IT to realize the business benefits of cloud computing and big data. In that role, Ted was responsible for guiding Dell EMC’s customer technology organizations in their IT transformation journeys as an architect, coach, and executive leader. Prior to this role, Ted spent three years leading EMC Global Services Cloud Services Portfolio overseeing the design, testing, and customer adoption of Enterprise Hybrid Cloud, and six years in various other senior management roles within EMC Consulting. Before this Ted spent 10 years in various architecture and operations leadership roles at B2B and B2C web companies.
Ted holds master’s degrees in Engineering Management and Data Science.

Owen John is a Senior Enterprise Architect at Kohler Co.

Founded in 1873 and headquartered in Kohler, Wisconsin. It is one of the oldest and largest privately held companies in the United States. Known for its bold look, Kohler is a global leader in Kitchen and bath products, is a global manufacturer of engines and power generation systems and operates award-winning hospitality destinations such as The Old Course Hotel & Spa in St Andrews, Scotland.

Owen started his career in Infrastructure and Operations in 1999 and has been with Kohler for the past 14 years with the latter 6 years spent in Cybersecurity and Enterprise Architecture. As the Enterprise Architect for this multi-billion dollar global company, Owen is able to share his experience of how Kohler chose to approach the challenges of remote working while protecting its assets and not overloading the VPN.

Owen currently holds CISSP and CCSP certifications

Dr Gilad Rosner is a privacy and information policy researcher and the founder of the non-profit Internet of Things Privacy Forum, a crossroads for industry, regulators, academics, government and privacy advocates to discuss the privacy challenges of the IoT. The Forum’s mission is to produce guidance, analysis and best practices to help industry and government to reduce privacy risk and innovate responsibly in the domain of connected devices.

Gilad’s broader work focuses on the IoT, identity management, US & EU privacy and data protection regimes, and online trust. His research has been used by the UK House of Commons Science and Technology Committee report on the Responsible Use of Data and he is a featured expert on O’Reilly and the BBC. Gilad is an internationally invited speaker and has given talks at industry conferences, universities, and government agencies, including the US National Institute of Standards and Technology. Gilad has a 20-year career in IT, having worked with identity management technology, digital media, automation and telecommunications.

Gilad is a member of the UK Cabinet Office Privacy and Consumer Advisory Group, which provides independent analysis and guidance on Government digital initiatives and is a member of the IEEE Global Initiative for Ethical Considerations in Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Systems. He is a Visiting Researcher at the Horizon Digital Economy Research Institute, an Affiliate Researcher at UC Berkeley’s Centre for Long-Term Cybersecurity and has consulted on trust issues for the UK government’s identity assurance programme, Verify.gov.

Mariana is the Director of Email Security Products at Darktrace, with a primary focus on the capabilities of AI cyber defenses against email-borne attacks. Mariana works closely with the development, analyst, and marketing teams to advise technical and non-technical audiences on how best to augment cyber resilience within the email domain, and how to implement AI technology as a means of defense. She speaks regularly at international events, with a specialism in presenting on sophisticated, AI-powered email attacks. She holds an MBA from the University of Chicago, and speaks several languages including French, Italian, and Portuguese.

VP Infrastructure Strategies, Trend Micro

Bill helps clients achieve an effective information security posture spanning endpoints, networks, servers, cloud, and the Internet of Things. This involves technology, policy, and procedures, and impacts acquisition/development through deployment, operations, maintenance, and replacement or retirement. Starting as an application developer, Bill moved to OS development at IBM in Poughkeepsie and joined Gartner in 1990 where he ran the Information Security Strategies and Application Integration and Middleware services. He served as CTO of Waveset, an Identity Management provider, prior to its acquisition by Sun. Bill attended MIT, majoring in Mathematics. He is a member of CT InfraGard and ISACA.

Justin Kampel leads Trend Micro’s Cloud One Conformity team in Europe and is the regions SME for Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM). As an early employee of Cloud Conformity, prior to the Trend Micro acquisition in 2019, Justin\’s team was responsible for establishing and growing the Cloud Conformity business in EMEA. South African born, he studied Business Marketing & Economics at the University of South Africa. Prior to joining Cloud Conformity he worked for the Swedish company Sinch (formerly CLX Communications), working within the CPaaS industry.

This ranges from investment banks, Telco’s, instant credit card fraud detection, and online gaming.  He has helped many institutes that were facing constant down time, performance degradation to being the most preformat and able to handle large major calendar events such as the Grand National, Cheltenham, Cyber Monday and Black Friday.

Mohammed has published many industry and academic articles.  He is a co-author of a book called “Pro Couchbase Server” also available on Amazon. Mohammed also has a PhD in High Performance Distributed Grid computing.
