Yahoo Plans To Do Away With Passwords

IT experts have been kept busy over the last decade or so by attempting to find a viable alternative to passwords. For companies providing services over the internet and also within enterprises, password reliance has always been a concern, they can be targeted and overcome quiet easily.

Yahoo has become the latest company to try and end the era of the password. In the United States, the internet giant is shifting towards a system of one-time authentication codes sent via SMS, banks have used this additional step for some time now fulfilling one key test for multi-factor authentication: something you know, something you have and something you are.
