NHS data drive to be stepped up

NHS England’s National Director for Patients and Information, Tim Kelsey, has hinted at driving hospital action on data infrastructure and also indicated an unhappiness with EU personal data. He has also claimed that CCG’s supporting the care.data scheme will be named soon.

Kelsey claims that the EU regulations could inhibit the use of personal data in healthcare, he also mentioned that a ‘carrot and stick’ approach could be possible for hospitals aiming to meet data infrastructure requirements.
