Organ transplant lists: Can big data help?

Social media can sometimes enlighten us to the power of organ donations, but for the most part you will not have heard about the almost 30,000 transplants that took place in 2013 alone. Most are taken from the deceased but, the living donors do those good deeds in relative obscurity too.

According to the United Network for Organ Sharing, 18 people die each day whilst waiting for a new, working organ for their bodies. The deeper argument is that more than 120,000 humans are in need of a life-saving organ. With the help of data, both doctors and mathematicians are teaming up to help save lives.

Join us at Big Data Analytics 2014 where we will discuss the many areas in which data can aid the human race to progress. The conference will take place on the 13th November at the Hotel Russell, London. Contact us for more information on sponsoring, speaking at or attending the day.

Below are our highlights from Big Data Analytics June 2014.
