Lauren Walker

Chief Operating Officer & Chief Data Officer EMEA, Dentsu Aegis Network

Lauren has vast experience clocking up over 16 years in the data industry.  Her professional lifetime in data started with political & policy survey research, which led her to the Clinton/Gore White House.  She moved on to ChoicePoint, (a spin-off of Equifax, later acquired by Reed Elsevier LexisNexis) and to ten formative years at IBM, across Information Management, Hadoop, Analytics, Digital, Watson and the Weather Company, to her most recent experience with Dentsu Aegis Network in the marketing and advertising arena.

Lauren was promoted in 2019 to be Dentsu Aegis Network’s Chief Operating Officer in the recognition of the criticality of data to enable our business transformation. She is thrilled to see every shape and size of the organization believing in her personal mantra that “Data is Transformational.”  In this role, she is not only the COO for the EMEA region but also the Chief Data Officer.

Lauren is also a great contributor outside the organisation, always willing to share her passion for data and have more people falling in love with data. She is a 5-time Data IQ top 100 UK and part of the Media Trust volunteering scheme. In her local community, she helps educate parents on the matter of data privacy and data usage, so they can be more aware and informed to make decisions on how they share their data and that of their kids.

Dr Louise Bennett

Co-Chair Privacy and Consumer Advisory Group; Director Digital Policy Alliance

Dr Louise Bennett has worked in Data Analytics for fifty years. The first half of her career was as a scientist in overseas aid and defence and the second half as an IT and R&D Director in science-based companies (Thorn EMI, Logica, AEA Technology, Vivas).

She currently does a portfolio of jobs including major project reviews, government advisory work and as a charity trustee. She is a Director of the Digital Policy Alliance, Co-Chair of the Privacy and Consumer Advisory Group to the Cabinet Office and DCMS, a member of the Management Board of IAAC (Information Assurance Advisory Council).

She also chaired the BCS Security Community for 14 years until 2018. Her work focuses on: Internet safety, education and trust; strategic and corporate governance; the exploitation of new technology and risk management.

Her latest work includes identity assurance and payments on the internet, trust in online identities, developing resilient organisations, from environmental, security and privacy perspectives.

Dr. Richard Benjamins

Data & AI Ambassador, Telefonica

Dr Richard Benjamins is Data & AI Ambassador at Telefonica, responsible for making Data & AI sustainable from a business, societal and ethical perspective.

He is among the 100 most influential people in data-driven business (DataIQ 100, 2018).

He was Group Chief Data Officer at AXA (Insurance) and worked for 10 years at Telefonica on Big Data and Analytics.

He is the founder of Telefonica’s Big Data for Social Good department, a member of the B2G data-sharing Expert Group of the EC, and a frequent speaker on Artificial Intelligence events.

He holds a PhD in Cognitive Science.

Sudesh Jog

Head of Analytics, Apetito

Sudesh works with the Apetito board on data insight led strategic programmes across the value chain to drive business growth in one of the fastest growing retail markets in the UK.

Previously, Sudesh led data analytics at BT and CRM transformation at Kindred (Unibet) group, driving business transformation by embedding data insight at the heart of marketing, commercial and customer service.

Sudesh is passionate about ‘bridging’ data capabilities and commercial objectives to find opportunities to create business and customer value.


Huma Lodhi

Data Scientist, BP

With over 15 years’ experience and wide-ranging expertise in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Huma joined BP in 2019 to focus on how their applications can help transform its services. She previously held the position of Principal / Senior Data Scientist with Direct Line Group, LV= and Cognizant.

Huma’s work is focused on building machine learning-based products and delivering advanced analytics value. She is fascinated by the role that Artificial Intelligence can play in the transformation of industries ranging from insurance to oil and gas.

Huma has a PhD in Machine Learning from the University of London.

She regularly speaks at industry events to introduce the best AI practices.

Peter Revill

Data Scientist,

As a data scientist for Compare the Market, Peter works on advanced analytics and machine learning by utilising rich customer website behaviour for one of the nation’s favourite brands.

Beginning his career at a major UK retailer, he was the lead in data modelling and worked on strategy for international markets. In between, Peter worked in the travel sector introducing a small business to the benefits of data science with very good results.

Throughout his career, he has worked to create and build processes with all major aspects of data science (machine learning, natural language processing, econometrics) and help build, embed and explain these to senior colleagues.

Richard completed his PhD in Bioinformatics in 2019 and transitioned out of academia and into data science as part of the BBC Datalab. He currently works as part of a squad aiming to create voice recommendations for BBC products.

Working with small, highly focussed teams Justyna fosters true collaboration, creating a sense of ownership, and working in partnership with all areas of the organisation. Justyna joined the Telegraph in 2017 from MEC (Wavemaker) where she led the rollout of Ad analytics tools across EMEA and managed product development teams.

Wellbeing is fundamental to Justyna and, in her spare time, she loves kitesurfing, diving, playing squash and unwinding by cooking for friends and family.

Julian is one of the country’s leading asset information management practitioners and is currently providing strategic support to several major infrastructure projects and organisations.

Julian is Chair of the BCS Data Management Specialist Group who organise events covering a range of data management topics and contributes to the development of data management policies, training and qualifications for the BCS.

Additionally, Julian is leading the asset information-related activities for the Institute of Asset Management, was part of the PAS1192-3 Steering Group and is a member of the Steering Group for BS1192-4.

Graduated from HEC Paris Business school, with a major in Finance, Sophie is also passionate about wine and gained a Sommelier diploma from the Wine University, South of France.
