Isabel graduated at the University of Amsterdam with a MSc Mathematics degree before joining NS as an IT trainee. During this time, she has worked at Data & Analytics and the research department of NS Stations. After her traineeship she went on working at the latter as a data scientist/researcher. The projects she has worked on include descriptive and predictive analyses, such as predicting crowds at the Schiphol Airport train station, and analysing pedestrian flows inside Utrecht Central station to optimize cleaning schedules. Romeo Kadir is a legal data protection scholar and holder of an Executive MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management. Studying the premises of ‘personal life’ (back in 1988) as a European fundamental right and its compliance challenges were at the basis of becoming the first appointed Data Protection Officer in the Netherlands with a semi-governmental organization (Authority for Financial Markets). As pioneer and founder of the Dutch Privacy Academy (2009), he trained many data privacy professionals combined with PhD Research in the field of the professionalization of the Data Protection Officer.
Romeo is involved with several EU certification initiatives and member of the International Board of Experts with EuroPrivacy (a pan-European certification scheme) which has been sent for final approval to the European Data Protection Board.

Caroline is a ridiculous optimist whose natural curiosity never stops. She is also the first Group Director for Data Management for the Lowell Group and previously was Network Rail’s first Chief Data Officer but has been a data cheerleader for more years than she can remember. Caroline is a strong advocate of ‘getting the basics right’ and the KISS principle, despite being a complete geek when it comes to any form of technology. As a trustee for CILIP (Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals) she champions the growing professionalism of the data and information-related disciplines so that we can all head towards data nirvana a bit quicker.
Caroline draws on experience from a varied background covering CIO/CTO roles through to running large-scale complex change programmes. Peter is Chief Data Officer at Southern Water and is tasked with developing and delivering a data strategy for the organisation. Southern Water supplies 524 million litres of drinking water from 89 water treatment works along 13,793 kilometres of water mains to customers’ taps. It also treats and recycles 718 million litres of wastewater at 365 treatment works, after it is pumped through a network of 2,375 pumping stations and 39,600 kilometres of sewers each day.

Michiel is a senior advisor at the KNMI Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute. His background is in data analytics, applied earth science, and technical and program management. He has broad experience in applied science in entrepreneurial, business and public sector environments in different countries. He spent a total of 11 years overseas and enjoys meeting and working with people from all backgrounds and walks of life.
