September 2017 will see the launch of a new government scheme aimed at providing teenagers with the cyber security skills they would require for a future career in the area. The ‘Cyber Schools Programme’ will be delivered to thousands of pupils aged between 14 and 18 years old, for four hours a week in a five-year pilot scheme.
The extracurricular lessons will blend numerous learning methods which include classroom, online and true-to-life learning alongside work experience opportunities to prepare our younger generation for the future cyber security challenges Britain is certain to face.
This latest investment is an important step taken by the UK government to reduce the cyber security skills shortage and better protect national assets and infrastructure for a more secure future.
