Has the government SME vision been lost?

Three years ago the coalition promised to channel 25% of Central Government procurement through to SMEs. Earlier this year, GPS tracking company Buddi pulled out of a deal with the Ministry of Justice, company owner Sara Murray said that it was “becoming prohibitively expensive for her 25-strong firm”.

According to Murray, central government does not only make it hard for small businesses but creates hurdles for SMEs in all other areas of the public sector.
